From the Meadow
WELCOME! BIENVENIDO! BONJOUR! SHALOM! ALOHA! This year will be an amazing year. We will be implementing our International Baccalaureate Program and reaching for the stars.
You will be receiving this letter every weekend. It will inform you of what we are doing academically as well as providing you with valuable information. It is very important that you read it to keep yourself informed.
The biggest news is that we are a PEANUT FREE ROOM! That means absolutely NO PEANUTS! No nuts or peanuts of any kind. This includes Nutella, peanut butter, candy, crackers and more. If you are not sure it is better to be safe than sorry and keep it at home for the safety of our students.
Feel free to contact me at any time for any reason via e-mail. I will answer within 24 hours.
Again, welcome, and I am looking forward to a wonderful year full of learning.
ReadingThis week I will be assessing your child’s ability. We will also be establishing classroom rules and procedures.

Science Our first unit is on inquiry. What does it mean to be a scientist? What tools do we need? What questions do we ask?
This first unit will be on maps – where we are in place and time. We will explore our home and journeys and personal histories. We will discovery the interconnectedness of individuals and civilizations. We will look at the local and global scales and how they affect each other.
I will be sending home a paper with a list of our specials and when the students have them. These are on a 7 day rotation. PE is on day two. This week it means August 14th.
We will begin to write our letters correctly and neatly.
